Silent people have the loudest minds

Have you ever had the feeling of having an image, an impression stuck in your memory? This is what a portrait by graffiti artist David Walker did to me long ago. I don’t remember where and how I first saw it, and that’s why the only way to get it out was to paint it. It has deeply impressed me, so I tried to represent it in my own way. A touch of typography was a must, of course, and the words came to me naturally, somehow already linked in my mind to this beautiful piece of artwork.
Painting this has been great exercise for both brain and hand, and allowed me to experiment with a set of new brushes and techniques. And later on, when I stumbled upon the picture on the internet again, I had a feeling of completeness.

Special thanks to ikeschatzi for the textures, and, of course, David Walker himself.
